Well THAT’S definitely going to help things. Well done Gold.
It’s the total lack of any responsibility or acknowledgment of any kind of failure on their part for anything bad happening at the club I find truly staggering.

Oh, and we were closer to administration when they took us down I reckon?

Do they really believe the anger is going to pass if they continue to refuse to back the manager?
They said that we had to sell Upton Park if we wanted to move up to another level. Despite the huge crowds, that hasn’t happened.
And now we’re supposed to be grateful just because they bought the club?

Gold is a harmless old man that wants to be loved. He really should not be on Twitter because all he does is remind us that he rakes in £millions from WH for doing nothing but appear as self-appointed royalty with a king complex.
Sullivan is the horrible little worm of a man...

I do love it when people talk about debt with no context.
£100m of debt is not really an issue for a modern Premier League football club.
Assuming an interest rate of 5% (and it may well be less in these days of virtually free money) the club needs to find £5m a year to service the debt. That's a rounding error for West Ham. TV money alone is over £100m a year.
Even back in 2010 when he acquired the club debts of £100m were not crippling. They only became frightening when the club got relegated, an event caused principally by Gold himself when he sacked Zola and appointed relegation specialist Avram Grant to manage the club.
All well run companies use debt to finance their activities because it is tax efficient to do so (interest payments can be charged to the P&L for tax purposes, so reducing the company's tax bill). As long as the debts are manageable given the cashflow of the company there is no issue.
Gold knows this. But he throws out this '£100m debt' number because it sounds like a big number and he knows very few people reading it will understand how financially illiterate it is for a Chairman of a company to talk about debts in this way.

Exactly, saying what he has is like an acceptance that the move hasn't worked, so now he's back tracking to suppose good he/they did 8 years ago. Scum.

He forgets the continued level of support before during and after these kinds of events, it’s nothing new to us and why it doesn’t stand out to us as marvellous of them.Turns out they saw the possibility of a move to a massive stadium and took a punt is the real truth and why he should keep his gob shut.
The club has ALWAYS been run by “we should be grateful for the scraps we get” ownerships (minus the Icelandic’s:)

They bought it as an investment, not just because 'they are West Ham fans'. Both of them will walk away with a lot more in their pocket than they arrived with.

Saved the club?
Equivalent of saving someone from drowning, and then water boarding them for the next few years.

David Gold on Twitter has lied about:
Not changing the badge Following the change of badge claimed fans voted for it Not charging interest on the loans Not taking repayments on the loans until the club is sold Parrotted plenty of Sullivan's bullshit "Don't go to bed. dg" All his spout about the youth not being good enough
He's not the harmless old fan people make him out, or he's senile. Either way he needs to be out of the club.

im sure comments like this will calm the situation.
I can imagine the people at RWFAG sitting there now saying “Oh yeah. We forgot about that. Let’s call off the march and send a letter of thanks instead”.
What an idiot.

But that debt was external debt to creditors... the club now owns the debt...and do very nicely out of it as well with the interest payments on it...so don;t give us we SAVED the club crap, you benefitted out of it financially, hell Sullivan has become a billionaire since taking us over !
